The company health service is an expert and advisory service within preventive HSE work. The service will assist employers and employees in monitoring the working environment in the business. All employers have a duty to link their business to an approved occupational health service if the risk conditions warrant it. The Norwegian Labor Inspection Authority can therefore order any business to associate with an approved BHT (Occupational Health Service) if we see a particular need for monitoring the working environment or checking the health of the employees in the business. Some industries have a more risky working environment than others, with a greater risk of illness, injury and psychological strain. All businesses within these industries are required in a separate regulation to associate an approved occupational health service.
